Start in Ayia Napa centre
Begin your Ayia Napa one-day itinerary in the town centre, where the square, monastery and museum make a compact first part of the day. You can set out on foot between the central sights, then decide how to cover the coast later.
Once you reach the centre, head to Ayia Napa Central Square, also known as Georgios Seferis Square. The monastery entrance is on the square’s south side, making it a straightforward first stop before continuing to the museum.

Visit the monastery and square
Ayia Napa Monastery sits beside the central square, and entry is free through its south gate. The monastery’s opening pattern changes by season, so allow time for a visit during the hours that apply to your travel dates.
From May through October, the monastery is open Monday–Friday 09:30–20:00 and Saturday–Sunday 11:00–20:00. From November through April, it is open Monday–Friday 10:00–15:00 and closed Saturday and Sunday. Guided-tour contact hours are Monday–Friday, 10:00–13:00; the telephone number is +357 23 812444.
After the square and monastery, continue to Thalassa Municipal Museum, also in central Ayia Napa. The monastery and square form the heart of Ayia Napa’s centre.

Thalassa Municipal Museum traces the sea’s importance to Cyprus and its natural and maritime history, with exhibits spanning paleontological and prehistoric periods through to the present. It opened in August 2005.
Inside, the collection includes fossils, shells, corals, ammonites and preserved sea animals. A life-size replica of the trading ship Keryneia II is one of its principal exhibits. The Cyprus tourism authority identifies the museum as wheelchair accessible and says it is closed on public holidays.
From 1 June to 30 September, the municipal hours are Monday 09:00–13:00, Tuesday–Saturday 09:00–17:00 and Sunday 15:00–19:00. From 1 October to 31 May, the hours are Monday 09:00–13:00, Tuesday–Saturday 09:00–17:00 and Sunday closed. The Cyprus tourism authority gives different Saturday and Sunday hours: Saturday 09:00–14:00 and Sunday closed in both seasons.
Individual admission is €4 for general admission, €2.50 for high-school and university students, and €1.50 for elementary and junior-high students. For groups of 10 or more, admission per person is €2.50, €1.50 and €1.50 respectively. Check the official site before you go.
Thalassa Municipal Museum is about 37 minutes on foot or 8 minutes by car from So White Beach Resort. When you have finished at the museum, take the afternoon outdoors.

Choose a coastal afternoon
For an outdoor finish, choose between a coastline outing and Ayia Napa Sculpture Park. The Sculpture Park gives you an open-air stop, while OSEA route 101 connects the town with coastal areas and beaches.
The Cyprus tourism authority’s map includes the Sculpture Park and shows frequent bus connections from Agia Napa to Cape Greco and Protaras on route 101. OSEA route 101 also serves Agia Napa Square and Harbour, Nissi Bay Beach, Landa Beach and Makronissos Beach, alongside Waterpark, Cape Greco, Konnos, Protaras, Pernera and Paralimni.
If you pick the Sculpture Park, plan it as an outdoor visit rather than another indoor stop. The park’s outdoor sculptures make it a coastal open-air stop.
Adjust the route for transport and opening times
Use the bus network to adapt the day if you would rather not walk between the centre and the coast. OSEA route 501 connects Deryneia, Frenaros, Liopetri, Agia Thekla Beach, Agia Napa Marina, the Waterpark, Ayia Napa and Paralimni.
For a journey from Larnaca, Intercity Buses’ Larnaca–Ayia Napa–Paralimni route serves Ayia Napa Monastery, Marina Hotel on Kryou Nerou Avenue, Nissi Beach Hotel, Olympic Hotel at Makronissos Beach and Waterworld Waterpark. The approximate journey duration for the Larnaca–Ayia Napa and Paralimni route is 1 hour 15 minutes.
Before setting out, confirm the museum’s seasonal schedule and the bus services that suit your plans. That leaves you free to keep the day’s order simple: central square and monastery first, museum next, then a coastal or Sculpture Park afternoon.
